Red, White, & Royal Blue: A review.

I read this in May because I felt like it was great for Memorial Day but also would have been good to read around July 4th (or any time really!). I read all day and finished this in less than 48 hours because I had to know what happened with Henry and Alex! I really liked this book but I’m not quite sure what I’d rate it yet. I definitely would recommend it and will probably keep it on my shelf to loan it out. It might not be something that I think about forever but it was a sweet story and is definitely worth a read.

The relationships between all the characters were amazing and the banter between all of them was the best; it was witty and funny and sweet! Alex and Henry are something else and I honestly think they are my new favorite book couple. Not only did this book have me crying but their problems were more realistic to their story and definitely made more sense than some of the relationship problems written into other stories. It was nice to see the characters realize that life doesn’t always look the way we think it will but that this is ok!

I loved how Henry finally stands up for himself and what he wants then allows himself to live the life he wants, I love how his mom finally steps in and stands up for him, and how Alex’s family is so supportive all along. There was definitely some character growth in a few places.

Overall, I was a really sweet love story between two people who didn’t like each other much at first over a misunderstanding but work it out and fall in love despite the odds that are against them.
