Here is the Goodreads page for a synopsis and more reviews, I would give this a 4 and I am so

bummed it took me so long to read this! I already have the second book downloaded on my Kindle so I can read it and I plan on reading other books from this author.

I really liked this and honestly, I was pretty surprised as the story unfolded because I didn't guess any of the storyline but when I got to the end everything clicked and fell together to make sense. It may just be that I have only read a few books in this genre so far so maybe this is why I didn't really guess much and all the twists were a shock. After reading through the reviews, it seems to be like Verity in the sense that either you love it or you hate it but it was a book that the more I read the more I wondered what the heck I was reading (not in a bad way for me personally). Kind of like seeing an accident, you know you shouldn't look but you just can't help it. I know quite a few people thought that Millie wasn't tough enough after her life for the past 10 years but honestly, I don't think everyone would experience that the same way or have it affect them exactly the same so it seemed realistic to me that she could be that way after that especially considering she was young when it happened.

I really enjoyed the writing style and how the story flows, it was a quick read that was hard to put down (I read it in less than 24 hours). It was split into three parts, Nina's view and story in the present, Millie's story meeting Andrew to bring us up to their life now, and then what happens going forward which I liked. It seems like both women were able to get a fresh start which was really nice.
